Antwerp-based ready-to-wear label BERNADETTE was founded in 2018 by mother and daughter duo Bernadette and Charlotte de Geyter, a former buyer at Ralph Lauren and graduate of Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts respectively.
The collections are defined by fluid dresses and outerwear cut from a multitude of fabrics and printed with custom, hand-drawn botanical and illustrated patterns, all of which are designed in-house. The silhouettes remain simple. Each piece has an ageless appeal and can be reached for time after time.
The Victoria gown is so beautiful and voluminous to underscore its dramatic silhouette.
It is made of a 100% poly fabric blend that looks and feels like silk taffeta. The fit is oversized so I recommend sizing down. I am a size US 6 and wear the 34.
It has 3/4 length puffy sleeves but the right sleeve has a cut-out to expose a bit of your shoulder and arm which is a lovely balance to the big bow on the left shoulder.
Button closure at the neck.
